Challenge: The founder of Isla & Matt grew up in Cebu, Philippines and was a new mom looking for Filipino-themed bibs for her son here in the states, but she could not find any. She started her business to create BPA-free, odorless and non-toxic products for children while sharing what makes Filipino culture unique, rich and beautiful. The bibs were the first products she wanted to create with Filipino-inspired artwork. The design needed to be playful but gender neutral, as well as not a stereotype of Filipino culture.
Solution: I created a fun design that celebrates Filipino culture through food, specifically famous Filipino desserts! The highlighted food are halo-halo, leche flan, ube mochi cake, suman, rice balls, carioca and ginitaang bilo bilo.
